This group meets from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, on the first Thursday of each month, at St Lukes Church Hall. We have had several Stately Home presentations, usually followed by a visit. We also have an annual 4 day holiday together in July.

We had our annual four days away this month and had a great time, as usual. David, one of our group, has written a review of the trip so you can find out more of what went on by clicking on the appropriate link at the foot of this page.

Some of our sessions around our four day trip had to be postponed, so we are now having the speaker in August to tell us about how things are looked after in the country house.

Hopefully we will have a day trip in September to Sewerby, and keep our fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain (we’ve had it rained-off twice before so third time lucky!).

In October, Francis Davies is going to talk about lost villages around some of the local country houses.

If you would like more general information about the group, please do not hesitate to send me, Chris Watson, an email, using the link at the top of this page.
